FC Professional Artist Grade Archival Sized Canvas for Oil or Acrylic -3/4"D

How great is it to find these canvases! I believe that these are the only sized canvases available in Canada (believe me - I have looked everywhere - retail and wholesale!). Sizing (treating the fabric with a special glue before applying the gesso ground) is the critical step that has been completely overlooked since the advent of pre-gessoed canvas about 50 years ago. Oil paintings need to be sized to prevent them from rotting and acrylic paintings need it to prevent SID - a discolouration that can leach up into the actual painting.

The medium-grade cotton fabric and ground have a combined weight of 13.5 oz. Frames are constructed with kiln-dried pine wood, with added cross bars where needed in larger sizes. After the acid-free sizing, these quality professional canvases are primed three times with Acrylic Dispersion Ground (Gesso).
