The medium-grade cotton fabric and ground have a combined weight of 13.5 oz. Frames are constructed with kiln-dried pine wood, with added cross bars where needed in larger sizes. After the acid-free sizing, these quality professional canvases are primed three times with Acrylic Dispersion Ground (Gesso).

Well built, sturdy pine frames come in Matte Black and Natural Wood. Both these finishes look great and function much better than other frames, for you the the working artist because they can instantly be fixed if they should ever become damaged in the wear and tear of art events.

Sets can assemble in a matter of minutes, making your work show-ready instantly. They are ideal for Plein Air Events, where there is a show at the end of the event.

Notes on Sizing -

Sizing (treating the fabric with a special sealant before applying the gesso ground) is the critical step that has been completely overlooked since the advent of pre-gessoed canvas about 50 years ago. Oil paintings actually need to be sized to prevent them from rotting and acrylic paintings need it to prevent SIDS - a discolouration that can leach up into the actual painting. It is very important that artists use sized canvases.
